When my family moved to the mainland from Puerto Rico in the late 1970s, I was both excited and terrified. Excited that I would finally get to see actual snow, but terrified that I didn't know much English. Fortunately, my mom and dad knew the best way to teach it to me and my brother was through Sesame Street. It was in front of an old Heathkit 18" TV (that my dad built himself), that I saw the PBS logo designed by Herb Lubalin, and subconsciously drew me into the world of graphic design.

From that moment on, I made it my life's mission to express myself through art and design.
